Social Enterprise

Hi, I am Terry Rigby the Founder and Director of Forward For Life Social Enterprise.

I work alongside communities and the Health and Social Care sector, and bring with me 15 years’ experience specialising in the fields of Mental Health, Well-Being and Suicide Prevention.

I have a core belief that communities hold the solutions to challenges in life they experience and feel that through a proactive approach positive change can happen.

“People already have the solutions within them – they just need their voices to be heard and their aspirations for making a difference acted upon”

I am passionate about Suicide Prevention, and as a Certified Trainer in ASIST, look to assure a future where Suicide Safe Communities are a reality

“by engaging communities directly and by giving community members the skills to support people at risk of suicide, I believe, this devastating issue can finally be dealt with.”

Background

I have an extensive background in the health and social care sector including a high level of experience commissioning a range of key strategic portfolios and the procurement of a variety of high profile health services for implementation at a city wide level.

Specialist areas of knowledge include Suicide Prevention, Mental Health and Well-Being and Community Cohesion and I have been the creative force behind a number of innovative community programmes across the country and actively support programmes that are person centred in approach by design.

I am a qualified Trainer/Facilitator in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and safeTALK with the position of being able to draw on the expansive knowledge gained over the last 14 years in the areas of Suicide Prevention, Mental Health and Public Well-Being. In respect of this field of knowledge and expertise, I am a Co-Founder of the SOS Suicide Prevention Campaign (2013)

I have a passion for creativity and learning having developed and supported the implementation of recognised bespoke training programmes including the Department of Health endorsed West Midlands Mental Health Awareness Training and the Birmingham 5 Ways to Well-Being Training Programme as a commissioner in partnership with the Third Sector.
